5-12th grade Youth Ministry at Crosslake Lutheran merges our strong history of “Youth Group” with “Confirmation Instruction” into faith experiences called “Youth Ministry.”

WEDNESDAYS (DURING SCHOOL YEAR)

3:45-5:30pm 5th and 6th Grade Ministry: This faith experience time usually include the following:

• Music lesson
• Large group lesson
• Announcements
• Prayer
• A fun activity

5:30pm Supper: Family friendly food and opportunity to meet and chat with other students and parents. The church covers the cost of the meal for children and youth. All are asked to contribute a $5 suggested donation for their meal.
6:15pm Worship: Wednesday worship is a casual setting. These 45-minute services contain some of the elements from Sunday and some recognizable Lutheran traditions along with some contemporary or experimental enhancements.
7:00-8:00pm Confirmation and Youth Ministry Time: This faith experience time for 7-8th and 9-12th grade usually include the following:

• Large group gathering introducing the weekly lesson
• Small groups
• Weekly Announcement
• Prayer

We also participate in serving our community through several annual events including highway cleanup, caroling, soup kitchens, and more.

We highlight milestones in our student’s lives including the Affirmation of Baptism and Graduation.

Fall and Spring opportunities for students to gather with others from Northeast MN are provided through our regional organization, the Northeast Minnesota Synod. Middle School Fall Gatherings and Senior High Spring Gatherings are a great way to connect with area youth while participating in unique faith forming events.

SUMMER

We offer opportunities for short-term and long-term Mission Trips, the ELCA National Youth Gathering, and other events as the Spirit provides. These experiences are made even more powerful by intentional preparation events preparing us for travel and the experience to come.

We have been ‘experimenting’ with different models of regular summer ministry. Our wooded outdoor worship site on Daggett Pine Road has been a great place to ‘try on’ regular gatherings during the summer months.
